Trane Educates Attendees on Leveraging the Internet of Things to Turn Data into Revenue at Field Service Connect
Austin, Texas, Nov. 12, 2015 —The ever-growing Internet of Things ─ in which everyday objects have network connectivity, allowing them to send and receive data ─ is expected to connect tens of billions of devices by the year 2020. ABI Research reports that the number of wireless-connected devices will soar to about 41 billion by 2020 – with 75 percent of the growth coming from non-hub devices such as sensor nodes and accessories that are part of Internet of Things networks.
Trane will educate attendees about how to strategically leverage the Internet of Things to transform data into revenue at the Field Service Connect conference held Nov. 15-17 at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas. Trane is a leading global provider of indoor solutions and services and a brand of Ingersoll Rand.
Matt Gates, vice president of Energy Management Solutions and Services at Trane, will address how organizations can leverage the wealth of data available today by developing a strategic approach to turning data into revenue.
The amount of data the Internet of Things produces can be daunting for companies. Gates will teach attendees to develop a process to identify what data should be collected and how and what needs to be put in place to turn it into intelligence. He will describe how this process can ultimately help them uncover new streams of revenue.
